SmartBro Connection Sharing Using ASUS RX3041 Broadband Router
Wednesday, January 10th, 2007I recently bought an ASUS RX3041 Broadband Router. I was supposed to get a Linksys WRT54G WiFi G Router but I was not able to find it over here. The Linksys WRT54G is one of those few Wi-Fi routers that seem to work with SmartBro out of the box. There were other Wi-Fi routers available but I was not sure if they would work with SmartBro. These other Wi-Fi routers cost around Php 4,000 to Php 5,000. The store I was buying from had a “same item only” return policy. I didn’t want to risk spending so much money on hardware that would not work so I settled on a regular router.
After making all the necessary wiring. I went on to configure the router. The router does not work out of the box with SmartBro and I had to figure out how to get it to work. I have been searching the Internet for simple tutorials on getting routers to work under SmartBro. So far most of these use the Linksys routers. Here are the steps I took to get Internet connection sharing using the ASUS RX3041 Broadband router…
