I am Nimrod A. Abing. I live in Roxas City, Capiz in the Philippines. Right now I’m too lazy to look for a job so I do freelance programming and consulting work. It pays better than working as an employee at local companies here. Plus I get to work whenever I want and goof off whenever I want.

I used to teach programming at a local IT school, until it was closed by central management. It was a good thing they gave us separation packages so I bear no ill feelings towards them (it’s business after all). Despite that, I won’t mention that company on this blog (no free adverts for you!).

I do most of my work on a PC running Ubuntu and I program mostly in PHP4. Though I do write programs using other languages. These include Perl, Python, C, C++, Java and C# (Mono). I used to do programming as a hobby. My old highschool buddy got me into programming for the Web when he asked me to write the backend for their community website. It was a quick and dirty job that took me only two days to write using PHP4.
